ASAT for Large Crowds
This course trains law enforcement and public safety personnel to plan, coordinate, and execute Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations in and around large gatherings or major public events. Participants learn to assess crowd behavior, conduct pre-event venue risk assessments, and evaluate airspace and regulatory requirements while developing comprehensive safety, communication, and contingency plans. The curriculum also covers planning and managing multi-aircraft operations to support large-scale events with complex operational demands. Designed for deployments at major sporting events, concerts, political gatherings, marathons, protests, parades, VIP visits, and other high-risk special events, the course emphasizes risk mitigation, interagency interoperability, and effective public engagement. Students gain an understanding of real-time crowd monitoring, perimeter security, threat and risk analysis, resource tracking, and counter-UAS awareness. By integrating aerial intelligence into event planning and management, agencies enhance situational awareness, improve coordination among responding units, and strengthen safety and resilience at high-profile gatherings. This is a classroom-only course focused on planning, coordination, and operational readiness.

Advanced Tactical Operations
Built on national standards co-developed with the Law Enforcement Drone Association (LEDA) and the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), this intensive course prepares operators to employ small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) as an integrated component of tactical operations for both exterior and interior missions. Instruction covers advanced mission planning, use of FAA waivers and authorizations for complex operations, and practical tactics to support search-warrant entries, vehicle-target operations, and confined-space interior scenarios such as hostage and barricade incidents while minimizing collateral risk.
The curriculum emphasizes integrated teaming solutions that combine multi-aircraft deployments, robotic assets, and coordinated close-quarters movements with tactical operators in real time. Students practice coordinated drills that simulate real-world constraints — limited GPS, contested communications, and rapid mission shifts — while applying rigorous risk-mitigation techniques and legal and ethical considerations.
The course combines classroom-based didactic instruction with follow-up hands-on scenario training so participants can apply principles and tactics in realistic settings; by course end they will be able to plan, brief, and execute complex tactical sorties that enhance unit safety and mission effectiveness while preserving evidentiary integrity.
